Major funding for the year 2005 to 2007 wa s for the Tsunami project. The Care Tsunami Reconstruction and rehabilitation project ended in 2007.
When Care Society came to existence about 10 years back it came with a reason to make the world a better place for people with disabilities. All that matters to us was to give and give more. We had so many dedicated hard working staff and volunteers among us and they were laughing and smiling sharing the joy of their existence. And knowing they are a part of the team that works towards strengthening life of people with disabilities.
Along the way we faced lots of hardship and challenges, but we overcome those with a dedicated heart not wanting to quit. Every day we see tears of happiness and hear words of encouragement. Every day we come across smiling faces. And those smiles are motivation enough for us to move on.
Like any other NGO, our biggest struggle is FUNDING. In an economic crisis like this, the status is much worse. Till this date we have been working round the clock to make the ends meet. However as for today, care Society is facing the biggest challenge of all. CAN WE CONTINUE OUR SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES”? The immediate answer at the tip of our tongue is YES WE CAN. We cannot afford not to and most of all we cannot afford to not to see that SMILE anymore.
True, we would work our best for that. But we cannot do it alone. We need helping hands to make us sustainable. We need your support. We need you to think. We need you to be a part of their lives.
Care Society is going to launch a “charity Film Festival” from 1st of July to 8th July in Male’. We are sure that not all of you would be big fans of Maldivian Films, but the 30 Rf your going to spent for buying the ticket would surely be a contribution to make a CHILD SMILE.
Even today what matters to us is to give all we can give, and we are working with same enthusiasm as we worked at the beginning. It’s our hope to know that we are not alone !
“Our every effort, all our hard work, together for better, too see just that smile! We CARE … DO YOU?”
